Arthur ("Art") Oliver (March 25, 1911 – June 1, 1944) was an American boxer who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Mississippi and died at the crossing in Robertsdale, southeast of Hammond, Indiana when the truck he was riding in collided with a passenger train.
In 1936 he was eliminated in the second round of the heavyweight class after losing his fight to Olle Tandberg.
After the 1936 Olympics, Oliver had a very brief, undistinguished career as a professional boxer, winning only 4 of 17 bouts. He then joined the army and fought in World War II, eventually receiving an Honorable Discharge. After the war he worked for the American Maize Products Company.
